Product Details...
Polyester strapping, polyester filaments strapping, woven strapping or composite strapping each have to be sealed with metal clamps, also called tightening buckles. Metal clamps or tightening buckles is a shaped wire which has been galvanized or phosphated. Galvanized metal clamps are the standard version which is recommended for either glued polyester filaments strapping or composite strapping.
Phosphated metal clamps have a roughened surface; so that woven strapping (which has a significantly smoother surface) sticks onto it tightly. If glued polyester strapping were used with phosphated tightening buckles, the strapping would be damaged by the roughened surface. Besides woven strapping, phosphated metal clamps are also used in connection with single use lashing straps ("Lashing"). In this case, however, a reinforced design is used.
