Strapping Sets

For those customers who are beginners with strapping/packaging and who want a good-quality basic equipment, we have several offers of Strapping Sets which should make the first steps easier. When purchasing one of the sets you can be sure to have thought of everything to be successful in strapping. For this reason a set always includes a strapping device, a strapping dispenser as well as one or several rolls of strapping band.

The question which set is the right one for you cannot be answered on a general level which is why there is such a great variety (as shown here). However, you should consider the following:

1. How heavy is the product you want to strap? With light packages/pieces up to 200 kg it is sufficient to use PP-strapping.

2. How many pieces/packages/pallets do you need to strap and how often do you do it? If only few pieces are to be done, the investment in a battery-powered device doesn’t pay off, even though it is comfortable to handle and very efficient as the tensioning and welding takes place at the touch of only one button. In such a case, a manual device should be preferred for cost reasons, which closes with the help of seals or metal clamps. If you expect that the frequency of use will increase in the next weeks or months, an investment in a battery-powered device will quickly amortize.

3. Does the packaging piece have sharp edges or is it heated up after the strapping process? In the latter case, you will have to use steel strapping. With sharp-edged packaging pieces like wood (firewood or sawn timber), woven strapping or composite strapping is possible. Otherwise a standard version of glued filament-strapping is also sufficient.

4. How big is the available supporting surface? If this is very small or almost not there, as with pipes, coils etc., only steel strapping or polyester strapping with a special additional device are possible solutions, since the steel strapping has to work against a sealing to create a proper tension. This is not feasible with a battery-powered device, so that steel strapping with suitable seals must be used.
