Strapping sets for polyester-filament strapping, also called filament strapping, comprise a dispenser, a manual strapping tool, metal seals and two rolls of filament strapping. Some suppliers also call it Stahltex since of all plastic strapping types this one is closest in its characteristics to steel strapping,- f.ex. it has a similarly high stability with only very low yield. An additional advantage is that it is in the low-price range, does not rust and does not pose a danger in the way of injury to man or goods since it does not have sharp edges as does steel strapping.
Polyester-filament strapping is made from polyester yarns; depending on the strapping width a varying number of filaments are gathered in a mini-extruder where the filaments are combined by means of a hot-melt glue. The wider the strapping, the more polyester filaments are used and the higher the tensile strength of the strapping.
