Textile Strapping

Regarding tensioning devices for polyester strapping, also called reel tensioners, various available types differ mainly in their width or their processing quality. The standard types are tensioning devices for 10-19 mm strapping width which can be used for Polyester strapping (glued, woven, composite) and PP-strap as well as for some PET-strap. The next grade then is from 25-40mm  or even up to 50mm. The standard tensioning device for lashing is the LS Lash HD, which is very solid but also light in weight, thanks to the aluminum it is made of. The big lever allows especially high tensioning power and the device is also designed for working vertically very comfortably. To exploit the maximal stability of lashing, we recommend this strapping device as it has been developed for lashing in particular.

Lashing is used as disposable tie-down belts and so consitutes a special kind of woven strapping. Different from polyester strap. lashing is not fastened with metal clamps but with double load buckles. This is the reason that the lashing tensioner (unlike the reel tensioner) does not include a knife.

The rather great price differences among manual tensioning devices for polyester strapping tend to confuse our customers. After all, most devices look similar, however, the details give away the differences:

Cheap imports from China often have pins at the lever which get lost or become defective which makes it impossible to use the device. The reason here is that these devices are not made from tempered steel. In addition, this type of tensioning device has a body made of cast-iron while the more massive and higher-quality devices are made from steel cast.

These points contribute to the fact that the life expectancy as well as the price varies greatly, although they look somewhat alike.

We would like to point out a very comfortable version for processing and tensioning lashing: the so-called PneumoLash. With this device the tensioning power may be set in advance to avoid any fluctuations. For some transports, this device is predefined as a means for securing cargo. the PneumoLash allows very high tensile strength up to 7.500N.
